Keeping Track

I'm going to use WW points to help keep me in check for now. Who knows how many different "plans" I'll end up using throughout this weight loss journey, but for now I'm going to do Points. I know points like I know multiplication tables, its easy and will help me start being accountable for all the crap I'm putting in my mouth.

I'm back at it.

Okay, I'm not pregnant anymore! Yeah! Yahoo! Hooray! Yipee Skippy! Seriously, I am so happy to be done. Baby born, check. Unfortunately, my body is only 75% my own because I am breastfeeding. But hey, that's alot more do-able than being pregnant.

Another big change, besides having a newborn in our family, is that I am a stay at home mom! Which in theory should mean that I will have more time to cook healthy, eat healthy and work out...we'll see.

But today is the first day of the rest of my life, and I want to wear all the clothes that I've been hoarding in my messy garage, so I need to lose weight.

My starting point:
I'm using the scale in my kitchen - 221.6
and I'm still using maternity clothes, ugh. I'll be happy to see those go.

Things change

Well, I'm not doing South Beach or Couch to 5K right now. In fact I haven't done them for about the last 5 weeks. I've been feeling totally ill thanks to growing a new human being. I'll be out of the losing weight game for a few months. I'll be just trying to stay even or keep the weight gain to a minimum. Ugh. I hate being fat and pregnant. Its bad enough being pregnant OR fat. But being both at the same time...really sucks. But at any rate, I'm not a diet failure, I'm just on hiatus.

too much information

i haven't posted for a while and i wanted to explain why...so i've been really ill for about 10 days now. I've lost weight, yeah! I'm at 195.8 this morning. But i have been really nauseous and spending a lot of time in the bathroom. yuck. i'm hoping to get back on healthy eating and good exercise soon.

my deadline to be at 188 has been extended to 8/31/08. Hopefully I can beat that and get there sooner. We'll see.

5 min is going to kill me.

Okay, last night was C25K night. Thank goodness for my Fairbanks Friend (she used to live in Fairbanks, Alaska.). She found out I was doing this program and asked if she could join me on my runs. I said sure. So I'm not doing the podcasts anymore, unless she can't run with me for some reason. So for 2 full weeks now we have been hitting the trails and she's the timekeeper. She's got a faster pace than I do (I mean really, I'm a turtle.) but she sticks with me and inadvertently pushes my pace up a little (not a lot, because like I said, I'm a turtle - who knows how to type.) On Tuesday, we walked. So last night, it was a little harder to get back into the running routine. Note to self - stick to a run/walk schedule because it makes it really hard to jump back in.
So we were going to do the actual Week 4, Day 1. And we almost pulled it off...except for that last 5 min run. Aaargh! I just couldn't catch a deep breath and so I started walking a little after 3 min. Not an awful thing, but hopefully we'll do it on Sunday (our next schedule C25K day.)

On another note, a much more positive note...my husband, the awesome T-Dad - finished Week 5, Day 3. If you know anything about the C25K program...you need to know that it is a very big deal to complete W5,D3. It is 20 minutes straight of running. And T-Dad did it last night! I am so proud of him! Woo-hoo!
